Black and white group photo of several families, with a "Pontrelli" studio watermark on the lower right corner of the photo. The subjects of the photo were members of the Order Sons of Italy in America. Many of these families were involved in the grocery business. The LaBianca and the DeSantis families owned and operated the Gateway Markets grocery chain, a popular grocery chain until the 1970s. (The DeSantises were cousins of the LaBiancas.) The Sciarra family owned a meat market in the North Broadway Little Italy enclave in Los Angeles. The Mumolo family were involved in the Viktor Benês bakery chain. On the back side there is a description attached which identifies the individuals as follows: Seated: Emma DeSantis, Nick Mondello, Stella Smaldino, Pete Smaldino, Connie Mondello, Peter DeSantis. Standing - Front: Sam LaBianca, Trifone Ventrella, Marie Liuzzi, Mary Lotito, Jean Mumolo, Amelia Sciarra, Frances Russo, Dee Dituri, Jim Sciarra, Joe Russo.
