Wedding portrait of Rose Ricci (maiden name Pescitani). She is wearing a wedding dress and veil, standing at the bottom of a staircase, and holding a boquet of flowers. The veil is also in this collection. Rose, age 18, married Henry Ricci, age 23, at Sacred Heart Church in Los Angeles on December 20, 1936. His family was from Tuscany, but he was born in Pasadena and worked as a window-washer. Rose's maiden name was Pescitani. Her father was Leonardo (born in San Pietro Avellana, Italy) and her mother was Teresa (born in Agne, Italy). After immigrating to the United States, the family lived in Burbank and became citizens before World War II. Teresa worked at Libby's Cannery until at least 1936. Rose went to Burbank High School and was a longtime member of the Garibaldina Club, Italian Women's Club, and St. Peter's Italian Church. |
