Description |
Panoramic black-and-white photo of large group of adults and children, taken outdoors, on a lawn. The group has gathered to commemorate the day in 1870 when Italy was unified (also known as Rome Unification Day), which was celebrated until Mussolini's time in power. Several adults are holding copies of an issue of La Patria newspaper with a headline about the holiday. Others are holding bunches of grapes (perhaps meant to symbolize vitality, life, robustness, and/or health.) Two pairs of Italian flags and American flags are held aloft at the back. Isabel Vignolo, Giovanni Gai, Frank Arconti, Secondo Guasti, Emile Pozzo, and Pietro Pozzo are identified in the accompanying photographs of the record. Written near the bottom of the photo: "Por La Festa Del Venti Settembre 1917. La Colonia Italiana adunata Guasia" |
