Two food can labels for Polly brand Naples style tomato paste ("salsa di pomidoro," although the traditional spelling of tomato in Italian is "pomodoro"). The label shows both a parrot and several ripe tomatos. It was packed by the Taormina Corporation and weighs 7 lbs. Made in the 1920s. The Taormina Corporation was among the first to manufacture tomato paste in the United States. |
