A backed resoltuon from the California State senate commending Lena Peluffo on her career and retirment as a merchant on Olver Street. The resolution is signed by Senator Art Toressm if the 24th District. It reads; "Resolution-Senate Rules Committee Resolution-By Senator Art Toress-Relative to Commending Lena Peluffo WHEREAS, The members have learned that Lena Peluffo, the owner of El Paseo Inn, has retired following 51 years as a restauranteur on Olvera Street in Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, In 1933, Lena Peluffo opened the El Paseo in the basement of the Italian Hall on Olvera Street, and, in 1954, she relocated El Paseo Inn to the Trade Mart Building on Olvera Steet where it has delighted satisfied customers in Los Angeles and throughout California; and WHEREAS, Her dedication to serving the finest foods and presenting outstanding Latin style entertainment earned for her International renown and her success had bolstered tourism in Olvera Street and the City of Los Angeles, and WHEREAS, It is appropriate at this time that the achievements and accomplishments which Lena Peluffo has made on behalf of the reastaurant industry and the tourist industry in California be acknowledged and applauded; now, therefore be it RESOLVED BY THE SENATE RULES COMMITTEE That the Members take great pleasure in honoring Lena Peluffo, owner of El Paseo Inn, in her exemplary record of professional and civic excellence, and convey sincere best wishes and every joy and satisfaction in her well-earned retirement; and be it further RESOLVED That a suitably prepared copy odf this resoltuion be transmitted to Lena Peluffo." |
