Description |
Clear glass Whiskey medicinal bottle used during Prohibition. Front label reads "Old Continental Famous Kentucky Whiskey - Perfectly Distilled Aged in Bond." The front label contains a pharmacy label on top which reads "F.B Hernan, Pharmacist - Devereaux Block, Main Street - Oneida, NY." The writing on the pharmacy label is smeared from aging. A sticker on the neck states the bottle was made in Spring 1916. Back label contains caution notice which states "This bottle has been filled and stamped under the provisions of the Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1897." The bottom portion states "For medical uses only.Sale or use for other purposes will cause heavy penalties to be inflicted." Prescription attached is dated 1922. |
